Reflection

In January of 2015 I started a course by the name of Education Technology. This course was design to educate its learners about the use of technology and the ways in which it can be incorporated in the classroom and the ways in which it can benefit students and help them to be very effective in the world of technology and also in the future as they will be functionally technological savvy adults in society. At the beginning of this course I was a bit nervous due to the fact that am not a fully technological person, but upon doing the different topic that was in the content of this course my confidence grew and so did my ability of using the computer to do the different things. The course started off with an overview, which gave us a basic understanding of what the course will be about and the definition of what educational technology which is the considered implementation of appropriate tools, techniques, or processes that facilitate the application of senses, memory and cognition to enhance teaching practices and improve learning outcomes.

The course continue with the use of computers or other technology media to do the works that was require of us, we first started with a personal philosophy that we placed in Schoology then we were suppose to comment on each others for me this was excited as was a new way of handing in our assignments and us as students would get the opportunity to do a feed back on our classmates work this was very effective as we learn from our each other. As the course went in dept we learn a different way of doing lesson plan base on one of the theory that we study during. We were required o do a the assure lesson plan then teach it, for this lesson plan we were going teach we were required to make a interacted video using power point, for me this was very excited as it opened my eyes to the fact that my technology skills were not limited and I have the ability to explore and use the technology to incorporated in the classroom as for the interacted games was very effective and bring across the topic and my classmates were so excited with playing the game so with no doubt I know that  in the real classroom  it will be very effective to the early childhood classroom. This was where the communication and collaboration came in, one of the six students’ standards in the ISTE, this standards in which media is use to communicate interact and publish work with the digital media.

Apart from the communication and collaboration which is the second standard there are creativity and innovation this standard focus on students demonstrating creative thinking, construct knowledge and develop innovative products using technology, research and information fluency which I learnt that students apply digital tools to gather, evaluate and uses information in this strategies are plan to guide inquiry, process data and report results among others.  Critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making this standard focus on students ability to think critically, plan and conduct research and solve problems this tool can be very effective to students. Digital citizenship is where students understand human, cultural and societal issues. Another standard I learn about was technology operations and concepts thus is where students demonstrates understanding of technology concepts, systems and operations. In this students are able to select and use application effectively and productivity, they also understand and use technology systems the way they should use them.

Overall this course was one in which have help to build my technology skills and also help me to understand and use technology effectively, This course have taught me that incorporating technology in the classroom can be very effective and interacting for the students. I believe that this course was very important and also proven that no matter the age technology is in our lives and one was continue learn something new each day or often as possible about technology as this is the era that we are living in.

People in my Community (The Farmer)                         

There are many people living in the community, they have different jobs and they all help to take care of us and our families. One of the many important people that help to take care of us in the community is the farmer. A farmer can be a male or female young or old who plants crop and rear animals. A farmer's main goal is to produce a good crop and/or healthy animals in order to make a living and to feed the population. Farmers are responsible for all crops and livestock that are needed for us to survive. Without food, the world would slowly die, and farmers work hard every day to keep plenty of crops and animal products in the market to keep that from happening. Farmers are very helpful to the community as they provide the market sellers with fresh food, fruits and vegetables that make us healthy and strong they also provide us with meat from their animals like beef, pork, chicken and from the chicken we get eggs which all are good for our families and ourselves they make our body function proper.
